Q1. Where are bridges built?

Ans. Bridges are built over roads, rivers, and canals to cross easily.

Q2. What are the materials used to make bridges?

Ans. Different materials are used to make bridges – poles, bricks, cement, iron, etc.

Q3. What is a trolley and where are these trollies used?

Ans. The trolley is an open box made of wood attached to a rope used In Ladakh.

Q4. What is Vallam and where are these Vallams used?

Ans. Vallam, a small wooden boat used in Kerala.

Q5. What type of transportation is commonly used in the desert region of Rajasthan?

Ans. Camel carts are used in the desert region of Rajasthan.

Q6. What is a jugad?

Ans. Jugad is a vehicle that looks like a motorcycle in the front and has a carriage made of wood attached behind. It runs on wheels.

Q7. What challenges do some children face on their way to school in places like Uttarakhand?

Ans. Some children have to walk through the thick forest, and snow and walk on rocky and uneven paths like Uttrakhand to reach school.

Q8. What are some common expectations for students in school?

Ans. All schools have rules that children must follow.  


Q9. What is Pulley and what is the main purpose of using a pulley?

Ans. Pulley: Pulleys are machines that reduce the time and energy taken to lift heavy objects.
